Knowing when you are done with something is just as important as knowing you’re ready to start an uncertain path. Both require you to trust your instincts and then plan accordingly.
I started Shoot the Poodle 600 days ago. Originally I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to accomplish, just that I wanted to learn. During the last year and a half I’ve done exactly that. This site has been a place for me to chronicle my life, and the lives around me all while taking large strides in my identity as a photographer.
Though there had been plenty of days I wanted to stop, over the last couple weeks a number of things have changed for me and I have decided that post number 600 would be my last photo of the day. This isn’t to say I will stop posting photos, but as I transition to the next steps in my life, I’m recognizing my desire to hone other skills to.
This post is mainly so that I can say thank you. Thank you to everyone who followed me, re-posted photos and liked them. Thank you to all my friends for encouraging me and giving me the inspiration from day to day to find things new and exciting to photograph. Finally, thank you to all my subjects who helped me find a passion in doing portrait photography by allowing me a photograph of you.
As new photos develop I will certainly post them, so this place wont be completely abandoned, but I wont be posting something new every day. Again thank you for watching me and encouraging my transformation over the last year and a half.
